Hyundai is testing the electric version of its best-selling SUV, the Creta. Slated for launch by late 2025 or early 2026, the Creta EV is based on the same platform as the ICE model but will feature EV-specific design tweaks such as closed grille, unique alloy wheels, and aero enhancements.
Expected to come with a 45–50 kWh battery pack, the Creta EV is likely to offer a 400 km real-world range. It will support 100 kW fast charging, making it competitive with rivals like the Tata Nexon EV Max and MG ZS EV.
Hyundai is also expected to pack the Creta EV with Level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, and Hyundai Bluelink connected tech. The pricing is expected to be in the ₹20–25 lakh range.
As one of India’s most trusted SUV nameplates, the Creta going electric could push more mainstream users to switch to EVs, especially those who want an eco-conscious yet familiar SUV experience.
